Clean Room Construction (CRC) was appointed by Orbital Fabrications Ltd to design, construct, commission and validate a new ISO Class 5 cleanroom facility. 

Orbital Fabrications is a market leader in high and ultra-high purity gas and liquid delivery systems. As part of their new premises development and specialist production activities, Orbital required a full turnkey cleanroom solution for a controlled manufacturing environment in St Ives. 

The new 74m2 cleanroom facility incorporated: 

• High specification modular cleanroom partitioning system with fully flush doors and windows 
• Freestanding load-bearing support structure integrated within the wall system, creating a self-supporting cleanroom 
• Walk-on ceiling system to support plant, mechanical and electrical services, and maintenance access 
• Interlocked personnel access doors with red/green status indication, electromagnetic locking and emergency override controls 
• Emergency break-out panel for personnel safety and complete mechanical/electrical services installation 
• Fully integrated air conditioning and HEPA filtration to achieve ISO Class 5 cleanliness standards 
• Electrical distribution systems, energy-efficient LED lighting with PIR control
