Cell Therapy Catapult - London
CRC is proud to have been involved with the delivery of "world-beating" facilities for research into cell therapy at Guy's Hospital in London.
CRC was the principal contractor responsible for designing, installing and commissioning a cleanroom laboratory suite in the Cell Therapy Catapult centre in Guy's Hospital.
The facilities include process development laboratories and a scale-up laboratory designed to mimic a GMP manufacturing suite to enable early-stage cell therapies to progress through development to readiness for large-scale commercial manufacture. The fast-track project was planned and executed with minimal disruption to the hospital's operational capacity. The new 1,200m2 facilities comprise entry/exit change rooms, assay development laboratory, large-scale and small-scale process development laboratories, a 'GMP-proving' manufacturing room, cold store and equipment store. A new HVAC system was installed to serve the laboratories and to provide an integrated air conditioning filtration and process extract system to maintain the specified conditions of temperature, pressure, cleanliness, noise, humidity and air change rates. The operational performance of the HVAC meets or exceeds its specifications.
CRC installed bespoke M&E service pods to service mobile benching and corridors were also prepared in order to accommodate an eye-catching mural design.
