| CRC completes the Phase 3 expansion
project for Plastic Logic Ltd in record time |
Clean Room Construction has completed the Phase 3 expansion
project for Plastic Logic Ltd in record time.
Plastic Logic was founded in November 2000 as a spin-out from Cambridge
University’s Cavendish Laboratory.
Plastic Logic is developing and exploiting a portfolio of intellectual
property based on printing active electronic circuits using advanced
plastic materials.
Having successfully completed Phase 1 and Phase 2, Clean Room
Construction was selected to design and build the Phase 3
expansion Project.
The CRC team was led by Ian Isted (project manager)
with Peter Durman (site manager) Phil Blackman (CAD engineer) and
Jim Muir as the hook-up engineer.
The facility now incorporates almost 300 m2 of state-of-the-art cleanrooms
in Plastic Logic’s headquarters on the Cambridge Science Park.
Plastic Logic’s technological developments have the potential
to radically change the economics of key segments of the electronics
industry. These developments enable revolutionary new applications
by printing electronics on thin and flexible plastic substrates using
a process scalable for large area, high volume and low cost.
By employing a dedicated attitude and positive client relationship
the team at Clean Room Construction achieved the
right result on performance in record time.
