Outline: |
|
CRC initially provided design
services to produce the Employer’s Requirement Document
which was in a performance specification format suitable for
design and build contractors to bid against.
CRC were awarded the design and build contract by negotiation.
The project was for the expansion of Plastic Logic’s
existing cleanroom facilities (also built by CRC), enabling
the process development of 14” display screen technology.
The cleanroom exceeds ISO Class 6.
The project included the expansion of external plant compounds
to allow for a substantial increase in plant. Fully automated
chemical delivery, waste transfer and storage systems have
been added to the building removing the need for manual handling
of chemicals throughout the facility.
Services included upgrading of incoming electrical supply,
specialist gases, cleanroom HVAC, fume extraction, automatic
fire detection, building management systems, DI water generation
and vacuum.
The company is “Headquartered in state-of-the-art
clean room facilities on the Cambridge Science Park
developing and exploiting a portfolio of intellectual property
based on inkjet printing of active electronic circuits using
advanced plastic materials.”
