Most of CRC’s business involves actual construction
of contamination-controlled areas and cleanrooms. We regularly operate
throughout the UK and in certain cases, overseas having completed
projects from Moscow to The Middle East.
We appoint one of our project engineers to be responsible for the
entire life of a project from order to handover and on to the end
of the defects period. This provides continuity both for the design
and build process and for the client, which we consider essential.
On large projects a team may share the task, but we will still identify
a lead project engineer. One of our directors is always responsible
for our projects and maintains contact throughout the life of the
project.
The office-based team is involved with:
- Production of a design and construction
programme
- Production of the project health and
safety plan
- Detailed design
- Design checks and freezes
- Production of drawings
- Obtaining client approvals
- Procurement of materials and equipment
- Appointment of subcontractors
- Attending regular design and construction
review meetings
- Qualification
- Production of technical manuals and
records
The appointed site manager becomes involved as the physical activity
commences including:
- Application and monitoring of the health
and safety plan
- Establishment of site base
- Setting out
- Construction progress
- Construction quality checks
- Progress monitoring
- Pre-snagging towards completion
- Cleaning
- Snagging and de-snagging
- Commissioning
- Testing
- Handover
In common with many companies in the cleanroom field, CRC
utilises a number of experienced subcontractors who have proven their
competence, attention to detail and safety and who operate as an extension
of CRC with regard to the quality of the finished
product. We normally use these companies for:
- Civil and building work
- Cleanroom fit-out
- Ductwork and insulation
- Pipework and insulation
- Refrigeration
- Fire detection and suppression
- Electrical installations
- Room finishes
- High purity services
CRC
pursues an active dialogue with all of its suppliers and
subcontractors to ensure commitment to the project and the client.
Our own experienced and committed site managers will
take responsibility for all personnel on site and work carried out
during construction.
CRC
takes full responsibility for the conduct, competence and quality
of all of its personnel on site.
